Long time friends and entrepreneurs, Daniel (the baker) and Buddy (the farmer), explore the unique challenges and sweet victories of brick and mortar businesses. We invite you to join us as we share our stories, and learn from the experiences of other place-based entrepreneurs. If you dream of starting or growing a hometown business, this podcast is for you.
Daniel is a U.S. Army Ranger turned entrepreneur and baker. He and his lovely wife Fawn have 5 children and live on several beautiful acres in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia where they have bootstrapped a successful bakery, airbnb, and cafe. Daniel’s spare time is spent dabbling in new bread recipes, dreaming of start-up ideas with Fawn, and enjoying the outside world with his family.
Seasons' Yield Farm
Buddy grew up in the suburbs of Washignton D.C. but was always drawn to an agrarian lifestyle. After college he completed an internship with Polyface Farms where his dreams of starting a regenerative livestock farm were realized. As newlyweds, Buddy and his wife Jill started their own farm and a few years later they also started a wedding venue on their property. They now manage 500+ acres of farmland, they own and manage vacation rentals, and host weddings and events at their property in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.
